UNICEF Blues vs. Agni Air

It was a nice day, not too sunny, a bit overcast.  It was UNICEF's turn to be on the crease opposite Agni Air team in the Wai Wai T20 Corporate Premier League cricket.  This is part of the activities by the Public Private Partnership to promote handwashing with soap.  Every break, boundary, when the commentator kept quiet, the cricket ground at Kirtipur resounded with the handwashing with soap jingle! The logo of soap water and hand were everywhere.

The UNICEF Blues team members had been stealing time here and there between office work and meetings to practice at the nets.  Here they are warming and stretching before the match...

The boys in blue try to loosen their muscles...

Captain Binoy Lama has a word about their strategy...

 The boys manage to give away a lot of extras, and then take two wickets in quick succession..
 The pavilion erupts in whistles and cheers...

 Action!

 Another wicket dismissed....
 Pradiumna waits by the ropes
... Hoping to knock off the bails... 
 ... Another Agni Air player heads for the pavilion...
 John waits for the ball to head his way...
 Agni Air scored a whopping 198, leaving the UNICEF Blues to chase a total of 199!!!
 Captain and team come in for the break

 ... and some food...

 ... The weather was very kind... just rightly overcast.. and hint of a drizzle that wafted away with the breeze...

 Binoy first returned to the pavilion with a pulled muscles.. and then it was Will's turn to wince...
 Binoy tries to nurse his injured foot...
 Our wickets fell steadily, as the runs barely trickled in...
 And soon it was over...
 Agni Air won the match by 103 runs!!
 The team are still in a good mood... and looking forward to tomorrow!!!
 Award ceremony brings an end to the day's match!!! Howzzat?
